PROGRAM NOTES

This work – as indicated by the title – is my first fugue, presented in three voices. It was composed as part of a course in writing fugues in the style of J. S. Bach at the New England Conservatory. Of note is the use of a master stretto towards the end of the work where all three voices can be heard playing the subject at the same time, though staggered.
