We might enjoy their music, but for all the music we listen to and enjoy, it is rare that we ever meet the person who writes it and even rarer to get a glimpse behind the curtain of them making it.

December 11, 2021 @ 8:00PM Tempo Rubato, Brunswick VIC, Australia. Intimate and moody, Shostakovich's powerful Piano Trio No. 1 begins an evening of music from prodigious imaginations. This youthful work reveals a vulnerable romantic, an innate melodist full of hope and passion. A gripping premiere follows by New York-based Australian composer Michael Grebla, whose music is captivating, introspective and above all, human. Arvo Pärt's stunning and serene retelling of Mozart's Adagio from Sonata in F Major, K. 280 suspends time before Robert Schumann's effervescent Piano Trio No. 2 uplifts in an elegant finale full of warmth and optimism.

As part of the 2022 Australia Tour, I'll be visiting Melbourne to record Piano Trio No.1 with the Melbourne Chamber Players at Iwaki Auditorium in ABC Studios Melbourne. The recording will be the first of my works for commercial release!
Hyvinkää City Hall, Finland. Lauri Vaahtoranta (Bass Clarinet) accompanied by the Hyvinkään Light Orchestra under the baton of Emily Wagoner perform the European debut of the 2014 work "Respiration for Bass Clarinet & Strings".
November 22 - December 2nd 2022, Birch Building, Australian National University School of Cybernetics, Canberra, ACT, Australia. Commissioned by the School of Cybernetics, "Control" will be featured in an exhibition among other works at the Australian National University, that explore the role cybernetics plays in art.
